Covid, in Italy an absolute record of infections in 24 hours: 50,599. 5.4% positivity rate
The epidemic claims another 141 victims. There are 1,038 patients in intensive care

Absolute record of infections in Italy since the beginning of the pandemic: 50,599 cases of Covid have been identified in our country in the last 24 hours, according to the data released by the Ministry of Saluite, shortly after 7 pm (later than usual) of 24 December 2021.
Yesterday there were 44,595 cases, the highest number ever recorded since November 13, 2020 when they were 40,902. The victims in the last 24 hours are 141, while yesterday there were 168.
With 929,775 processed swabs, the positivity rate stood at 5.4%. Yesterday it was at 4.9%.
As for hospitals, there are 1,038 (yesterday there were 1,023) patients in intensive care in Italy, 15 more than yesterday in the balance between income and expenses. Daily admissions are 102. Patients with symptoms in ordinary wards are 8,812 (yesterday they were 8,722), or 90 more.
460,674 are currently positive at Covid in Italy, 30,645 more than yesterday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total cases are 5,567,644 and the deaths 136,386. The discharged and healed are instead 4,970,584, with an increase of 19,804 compared to yesterday.
