The Carabinieri of Pavia are executing a precautionary custody order against the mayor of Vigevano Andrea Ceffa (Lega), a municipal councilor and three managers of the company Asm (controlled by the Municipality) in relation to crimes against the Public Administration.

Searches were also carried out on a local politician, on former MEP Angelo Ciocca and on a building contractor.

The investigation began with an attempt in November 2022 to overthrow the city council (known as the "Conspiracy of St. Andrew"): a councilor was allegedly approached to resign for 15,000 euros, while the mayor, in order to gain support from another councilor, allegedly procured her a consultancy. The mayor is accused of corruption.
