Claudio Lauretta, an impersonator, actor, and comedian on television and radio, spoke to ANSA on the phone: "He was in his hometown of Novi Ligure on Viale Saffi," the report states. " He was on his way to get his car and then pick up his mother Marisa at the gym. He had also stopped by the newsagent to read my latest interview, which came out today ."
According to initial investigations by local police, the elderly man was struck by a reversing van near the exit of the school on Viale Saffi, and the driver stopped to provide assistance.
Claudio Lauretta continues: "Dad, born in 1941, was in great shape and doing great. Just yesterday, he and Mom celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary." A Red Cross volunteer and former blood donor, he was always "extraordinarily cheerful. He told jokes and kept all of Novi happy. I took so much from him and I already miss him terribly ," Lauretta concludes.
