Rosalia De Giosa, 74, the woman missing since yesterday in the collapse of the building in Bari , was extracted from the rubble and taken by ambulance.
The recovery was accompanied by a long, liberating applause from the firefighters and those present. "Hurray, hurray, we confirm what you saw,
we extracted the lady alive and she appears in good conditionhealth conditions" , the rescuers reported immediately after the rescue.
The collapsed building is located in the Carrassi district of the Apulian capital. According to initial investigations, the building would have “imploded” due to the collapse of a central pillar.
It had been declared unfit for use, cleared and shored up in February of last year precisely because static problems had been detected in a central pillar. The property had started consolidation work.
