Wind, clouds and a drop in temperatures are expected in Italy over the weekend of October 31st and November 1st : this is confirmed by Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist at iLMeteo.it, according to whom the peninsula will be hit by cold currents of Arctic-continental origin , originating between Finland and western Russia, heading towards the Mediterranean basin.
This flow will cause a significant decrease in temperatures across much of the country , with both minimum and maximum values dropping, by Sunday, approximately 3-4°C below the period average.
The first showers are expected on Saturday 31 October also in Sardinia , with the phase of greatest atmospheric instability which will however become apparent during the day on Sunday: the entry of other cold air masses over the Mediterranean will favour the deepening of a low pressure centre with the development of organised storm systems also on the island.
Strong winds are also expected, with gusts of north-easterly and north-northern winds estimated at 50-60 km/h in central and southern Italy. Seas will be very rough or locally rough offshore, with significant wave heights of 1.5 to 2.5 meters, peaking at 3 meters offshore.
