Sardinia has the cleanest sea in Italy, preceded only by Puglia.

This is certified by the microbiological analyzes conducted over four years (2019-2022) by the National Environmental Protection System, the network that coordinates the various regional environmental agencies present throughout the country.

As mentioned, Puglia is at the top of the ranking, for the third consecutive year, for bathing water quality (99.8% judged excellent), followed precisely by the island (99.3%) and then by Tuscany (98 .6%) and Molise (98.5%).

More than 30,000 samplings were carried out in 2022 throughout the country to evaluate the quality of bathing water from a health point of view.
