In Turin, a fan was taken to the hospital with a critical condition due to a head injury. The 45-year-old man was reportedly involved in the riots that broke out this afternoon between Juventus and Torino ultras before the derby.

The reaction of Juventus fans at the stadium was to largely abandon the away section of the stands and move to the antechamber. The team then marched to the Curva, and the fans asked not to play.

The injured man, who is understood to be a Juventus supporter, later underwent head surgery at Molinette Hospital and is said to be in serious condition.

Some Torino ultras also showed up at the hospital to show their solidarity with the Bianconeri.

From the Juventus stands, after a series of chants of "don't play the match, suspend it," the derby started an hour late.

After the 9:45 PM kick-off was announced, the away section occupied by Juventus fans began to empty in protest.
