Civitavecchia, 87 kilos of cocaine under the “electronic” seats of the truck
Spanish trafficker arrested just arrived from Barcelona: ingenious mechanism to hide the loaves, but in the port there was the dog "Eviva"The drugs were hidden in a false bottom under the seats, which were raised thanks to an ingenious electronic system. But that quantity, 87 kilos of pure cocaine, did not escape the attention of the police dog Eviva: it is thanks to her nose that the State Police of Civitavecchia arrested a Spanish trafficker who had just arrived by ship from Barcelona.
The Maritime Border Police officers, after having carefully examined the list of passengers arriving from Barcelona, carried out checks on some vehicles present on board the ferry.
Among these was a road tractor with a semi-trailer attached driven by a Spanish hauler. In the initial stages of the check, the driver was particularly nervous: a feeling that increased when the dog “Eviva” approached the vehicle, signaling the “contamination” by drugs. Drugs that, however, were difficult to detect.
The search of the passenger compartment revealed 2 remote controls similar to those used to open electric gates. Nearby, some fuses. Once the device was reassembled, here is the discovery: the two seats in the passenger compartment were raised electronically, automatically removing themselves from their housing and revealing a large double bottom hermetically sealed from the outside, where numerous packages were hidden: a total of 79 blocks for a total of 87 kilos of cocaine.
