A woman was seriously injured after falling from the first floor of her home in Cesena while trying to call for help during a scam carried out by two men posing as police officers.
According to the Perugia police headquarters' reconstruction, the two alleged Italian perpetrators attempted to enter the sisters' home under the pretext of investigating alleged crimes related to their cars. They demanded the money and valuables stored in the house, including several gold sovereigns.
The sisters, suspicious of the scammers' hasty behavior, refused to hand over the goods and were hit and grabbed. One of the two managed to free herself and call for help from the window, but she fell from the first floor and sustained serious injuries.
The two men were subsequently stopped by traffic police on the E45 near Pantalla, Umbria, with all the stolen money and items. They were arrested for aggravated robbery and, after validation, the investigating judge placed them under house arrest.
