It ended up in the Po River and was immediately sucked into the rushing waters caused by heavy rains: it happened this morning in the Mantua area, where a car went off the road on the river bank, in San Benedetto Po. Nothing could be done for the two people traveling in the vehicle.

The 118 paramedics intervened on site, including with the helicopter rescue, the State Police and the firefighters with the divers, who recovered the bodies.

According to initial information, they appear to be an elderly couple.
