Tragedy struck last night in Milan , where a 35-year-old local police officer died during a car chase after a car failed to stop at a checkpoint . The chase began around 9:30 PM last night in the Ponte Lambro area, on the outskirts of the city, when a car failed to stop at a checkpoint.

At that point , the officer began chasing the vehicle on his motorcycle, which he apparently lost control of and fell to the ground. A fatal fall . Investigations are underway to reconstruct the accident and locate the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle.

The victim is Francesco Imprezzabile , who posted a photo on his social media pages on May 23rd riding his service motorbike: "Wearing this uniform isn't just a job, it's a responsibility," he wrote.
