The four farm workers burned alive last Monday in Amendolara (Cosenza) were from Sardinia . They had all passed through the island before going to work in the fields in Calabria.

The victims are the Pakistani Waseem Khan, 29 years old, and the Pashtun Afghans Amin Fazal Khogjani (28), Ullah Ismat Qiemi (19) and Safi Iayjad (27) . Investigators were able to identify them, given the state of their bodies, thanks to documents found in the apartment where they lived in Villapiana together with other migrants, including Mohammad Taj Alamyar, a 35 year old Afghan, the only survivor of the massacre who escaped the flames by breaking a window .

Their residence permits are headed by the Sardinian Police Headquarters.

The four laborers were killed because they demanded payment for their work. They were only given food and lodging, and the gangmasters also demanded payment for transportation.

That morning, there was a furious argument over money, so the two Pakistani gangmasters stopped the car at the gas station, locked and locked the doors, and threw gasoline from the trunk, setting the vehicle on fire with the five migrants trapped inside . One of them managed to escape.
