Umberto Bossi's funeral tomorrow at the Abbey of San Giacomo in Pontida, starting at 12 noon, will not include any ceremony, nor reserved seating , except for family members and a very limited number of high institutional officials.
This is what we learned from the communications office of Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti.
It will be a simple ceremony, it is explained, and no political speeches are planned in the churchyard. At the exit, an Alpine choir will sing "Va' Pensiero."
The ceremony will be officiated by the abbot of the monastery of San Giacomo. The organization has been entrusted to some Lega militants with the guidance of the family and Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti.
The funeral service is open, and seating in the abbey is available to participants on a first-come, first-served basis. A large screen will be set up outside the abbey to broadcast live images. Other morning services at Pontida Abbey are suspended.
