Bergamo, building explodes due to gas leak: one woman extracted from rubble, 40 evacuated

Fear this morning at dawn in Bagnatica, Bergamo , where a building exploded due to a gas leak.

The explosion occurred around 6:30, in via Isolabella: a family of four was rescued by firefighters. Among them, a woman was pulled from the rubble and suffered burns. One of the woman's children was also injured with second-degree burns.

Five firefighter teams were on site.

The accident toll is 6 injured: three red codes, two yellow and one green. A neighbor was also seriously hit by a wall.

The building affected by the explosion has 10 apartments, all uninhabitable. About forty people are outside the house. Civil protection and carabinieri are also on site.
