"The more you held her up, the more her head fell forward. Her whole body was purple, and her lips were purple. She was already in a very bad state." This is one of the most dramatic passages in the testimony given by the older sister of Beatrice, the two-year-old girl who died on February 9th in the Imperia area, which is being examined by the inquest into the circumstances of her death.

The 9-year-old girl spoke about her sister's final hours, describing the severe suffering that had continued for days without, according to the prosecution, seeking help or medical attention. According to the girl's account, Beatrice had been in a worrying condition since the evening of February 7th, when she and her two younger sisters were at her mother's partner's house in Perinaldo. Her sister reported hearing her scream while she was with the man and that she had "vomited several times."

The two older sisters allegedly tried to call for help from the adults in the house, but received no response. The next morning, according to the testimony, the mother's partner took the little girl to the bathroom. "I heard her screaming, and he said, 'Shut up, it's nothing,'" the girl said. When she and her other seven-year-old sister entered the room, Beatrice was "bleeding from her nose," her eyes closed, and her head nodding.

The girl reported checking on her sister several times while she was lying on the bed: "If I raised her arm and then let go, she'd fall." Despite everything, no one alerted 911. That afternoon, the situation worsened again. Her sister reported that, during some maneuvers performed on the girl, "Bea was spitting out flesh." That evening, she also noticed a wound on her chin. The next morning, the girl continued, she and her sister were awakened by the man with the words: "Don't go to school because something terrible has happened."

Shortly thereafter, Beatrice was reportedly transported by car wrapped in a red blanket , but "her face was not visible." According to the documents, during the journey, her mother and her partner allegedly told the two sisters not to mention having been in Perinaldo or to mention knowing the man. Emergency services arrived in Bordighera, but Beatrice had already been dead for several hours.
