The Carabinieri have arrested the alleged perpetrators of the bombing of Sigfrido Ranucci . The Carabinieri have issued four precautionary measures for possession of explosives and criminal damage, aggravated by mafia methods.

The attack was carried out on the evening of 16 October 2025 , in Pomezia, near Rome: a device was detonated in front of the gate of the journalist's home , destroying his two cars parked in the street and damaging the perimeter wall.

Three people were arrested, one under house arrest pursuant to an order issued by the investigating judge of the Rome Court at the request of the local Anti-Mafia District Directorate. The arrests were made in the early hours of the morning in the provinces of Naples and Avellino by Carabinieri officers from the Rome Provincial Command, assisted by officers from the competent provincial commands. The four individuals are seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of the crimes of possession, carrying in a public place, and use of an explosive device, threats, and damage, aggravated by the fact that more than five people acted in a mafia-like manner.

The commando allegedly acted on the specific mandate of third parties, currently unidentified, as a "favor" and for financial compensation. The masterminds worked to provide support to protect the alleged perpetrators, providing funds, dedicated phone cards, legal assistance, and planning their eventual escape abroad. The suspects repeatedly attempted to obstruct the investigation by conducting sweeps to search for bugs, destroying SIM cards, and establishing covert defenses to conceal their involvement and protect the masterminds.
