An armored truck on the Calabrian highway was robbed, resulting in a $2 million haul.

A Sicurtransport armored vehicle was attacked this morning on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria highway, inside a tunnel between the Scilla and Bagnara junctions (Reggio Calabria), heading north.

The bandits moved in at dawn, blocking traffic using several torched cars parked across the road. Several shots were fired, but no injuries were reported.

According to initial estimates, the loot from the robbery amounts to around two million.
