An 11-year-old girl dies in Palermo, her body showing signs of violence: an investigation has been opened.

The Juvenile Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation , led by the police, into the death of an 11-year-old girl in Palermo.

Her family took her to Buccheri La Ferla Hospital: her clothes were soaked in gasoline and there were signs of violence on her body . The little girl, who had been hospitalized several times in the past because she suffered from drug-resistant epileptic seizures, died shortly after being admitted .

The magistrates have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The mother, a 31-year-old woman with four other children, all minors, and her new partner, who was not home yesterday, were questioned by police. At this time, homicide appears to have been ruled out.
