Francesco Miranda, Alessia Pifferi's ex-husband, was found lifeless last 6 July in his home in Via Parea in Milan, in the same building where the 38-year-old sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her daughter Diana, born from another relationship.
The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the death of the man, 55 years old and who had undergone a gastroscopy two days earlier: a case has been opened for manslaughter against unknown persons, an act required to arrange for the autopsy, which has already been carried out, and carry out investigations to clarify any medical responsibilities.
According to what has been reconstructed, Miranda had been suffering from stomach pain for some time and had undergone diagnostic tests at the Melegnano hospital two days before his death.
The body, on which no signs of violence were found, was found by the firefighters, who had to enter from the balcony because the door was closed from the inside.
The alarm was raised by the 55-year-old's sister who, after accompanying him to the hospital for the gastroscopy, was no longer able to contact him. The medical-health personnel of 118 and the state police also intervened on site.
Pifferi, accused of having left her daughter Diana to die of starvation in July 2022, abandoning her at home alone for 6 days, had married Miranda when she was twenty years old.
After the separation, they both remained living in the Ponte Lambo area in two different apartments. «She feels very bad - explains the lawyer Alessia Pontenani, who defends the woman -. She is desperate and cries constantly."
The two had reportedly always remained on good terms and he had also become fond of Diana.
