Alberto Franceschini, one of the founders of the Red Brigades together with Renato Curcio and Mara Cagol, has died.

The death occurred on April 11th but the news was released only today. Franceschini was 78 years old and had been sentenced with a final sentence, among other things, for the kidnapping of the Genoese judge Mario Sossi and for the murder of two MSI members in Padua in 1974.

Arrested in 1974, eight years later he dissociated himself from the armed struggle. He left prison in 1992, since then he has worked for an Arci cooperative dealing with immigrants, drug addicts and prisoners.
