A 27-year-old worker, Tommaso Andreuzza, died from serious injuries sustained after a fall from a height of approximately twenty metres at the Fincantieri plant in Monfalcone (Gorizia).

Paramedics from the Sores Fvg regional operations center arrived on the scene with a helicopter and an ambulance, but there was nothing they could do for the 27-year-old, an employee of an external company, "Inquota," which specializes in work at heights using ropes and similar equipment. He died from the numerous injuries caused by the impact with the ground.

Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri and inspectors from the local health authority, assisted by the local firefighters.

The Gorizia prosecutor's office is expected to arrive on site. The area is currently closed.

Fincantieri issued a statement regarding the incident, expressing its deepest condolences for the tragic passing of the worker and expressing its sincere sympathy for his family and colleagues. Initial reports indicate that the accident occurred while the worker, a site manager employed by an external company, was performing maintenance on the roof of the welding shop . From the very first moments after the incident, rescue operations were immediately activated at the Monfalcone shipyard and all required procedures were implemented . Fincantieri is cooperating fully with the competent authorities and is currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
