A twelve-year-old boy climbs onto the roof of a building to play with friends and falls to his death.
Tragedy in Bologna: Access to the terrace was closed, perhaps the group forced a window.Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
He had probably climbed up to the condominium terrace above the eighth floor for fun, perhaps to take photos of the sunset and selfies with some friends, but the plexiglass covering of the skylight gave way and he fell into the void, through the stairwell and into the ground-floor lobby.
This appears to be the dynamics of the accident that occurred around 7:00 PM yesterday on Via Piave, in the Saffi neighborhood of Bologna, which claimed the life of twelve-year-old Louis Pisha, of Albanian origin. The boy didn't live in the building, nor did the friends he'd been with on the terrace.
According to some residents, the door leading from the top floor to the terrace is always locked, and to reach it, the boys forced open a window. Once on the roof, it's unclear why the twelve-year-old climbed up the skylight. When the plexiglass cover gave way, his friends tried to hold him down and keep him from falling. His cries for help attracted the attention of several residents, but there was no time to act: Louis fell into the stairwell.
The Santa Viola police station and the Flying Squad are also investigating the case. The prosecutor on duty, Mariangela Farneti, will decide in the next few hours whether to order an autopsy on the boy.
From what we understand, the examination may not be necessary given the relatively clear sequence of events and the fact that no third parties appear to be responsible for the fall. The building where the tragedy occurred is located on the same street and just a few meters from the site where, in September 2024, 17-year-old Fallou Sall died, stabbed by a peer.
