A newborn baby was abandoned in a bag on the street: a passerby heard his cries and is now in critical condition.

A newborn baby was found in a bag on the street this afternoon in Cinisello Balsamo, a town on the outskirts of Milan, and was then taken with critical condition to the Niguarda Hospital in Milan.

It was a woman, who was walking her dog, who heard cries and noticed the newborn in a bag, covered by a small cloth.

Officers from the Police Station and from the Police Headquarters' Flying Squad were on site.
