A migrant will be expelled from Italy for insulting the Italian flag, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi announced.
"The foreign citizen who, after tearing the flag off the wall in Florence, threw it to the ground and defaced it, was immediately identified. The man, an illegal immigrant, was taken to a CPR (Reception Centre) where he will be held pending repatriation to his country of origin. In Italy, our laws and rules must be followed, but above all, the symbols that represent the deepest values on which our democracy is founded must be respected and honored," Piantedosi wrote on social media, posting a video of the incident.
