A recent hacker attack on the Chamber's IT systems also affected the mailboxes of numerous parliamentarians , including Giorgia Meloni's. A massive attack that affected the entire system, but was still monitored by Chamber technicians.
Regarding the Prime Minister's mailbox, sources at Palazzo Chigi specify that it is not the one used by the Prime Minister for government communications .
"This is not an emergency issue," sources at Montecitorio emphasize, "and it occurs daily." The same sources specify that " all protective measures have been implemented , including in collaboration with ACN (National Cybersecurity Agency), with which a specific protocol is in place. The measures may also include the temporary deactivation of certain IT system functions, as is standard practice. Furthermore, it appears that similar attacks and pressure on IT systems have intensified in recent days, including against other national, European, and international institutions."
