The three children of the Anglo-Australian family living in the house in the woods in the province of Chieti will be forced to leave their home and move to a foster home, where they will remain with their mother for a period of observation. This was stipulated by a decision of the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila, executed today with the assistance of social workers and law enforcement.

The case came to the attention of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of L'Aquila last year, after the children were hospitalized following mushroom poisoning.

A Carabinieri search of the house resulted in a report that resulted in the suspension of parental authority, but without interrupting the custody of the minors with the family.

With the new provision, however, the children will have to stay in the community designated by the court, while the mother will remain at their side.

The parents reiterate that their choice to live in the woods was not born out of negligence, but from a desire to live in contact with nature, safeguarding their bond with their children and animals.

Meanwhile, nearly 31,000 people have signed an online petition asking that the family be allowed to stay together in the house in the woods.
