Ten years after the death of Giuliano Girardi, the 60-year-old stabbed at home in Senin, above Aosta, the case reopens and the Prosecutor's Office records four people in the register of suspects, including the victim's former partner, the one who had him found lifeless.
The carabinieri would have collected new elements and, among these, the examination of a chewing gum found at the time in Girardi's bed and from which the DNA was extracted, which will be compared with that of the suspects, will prove to be fundamental. The man, a past as a worker, divorced and with a daughter, defined by all as a respectable person, for some time had been dating a woman, Cinzia G.
She was the first to be suspected because she was considered the only one to have a motive, as the day before the crime Giuliano had left her and the circumstance had emerged from some text messages. In addition, a trace of blood had been found under one of his shoes.
The blows inflicted on the 60-year-old had been very violent, hence the hypothesis that the woman could have acted with the help of someone else. The investigating judge in 2014 had, however, closed the investigation.
Now there is a possible breakthrough on the horizon, that chewing gum could reveal a key detail.
