An explosion occurred late this afternoon in the Arezzo area , near Il Matto, in a two-story building. The alarm was immediately raised by calling 112.

Firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement were on site. The major emergency plan was implemented.

Three people were injured and have already been taken to hospital.

Access roads to the area were temporarily closed for rescue operations.

Firefighters are working to determine if there may be other people under the rubble: the explosion caused a partial collapse and a fire.
