A nine-year-old boy was left alone on a departing train at Monza station, watched by his mother and siblings who remained on the platform. It all happened in a matter of moments on the platform of a regional train headed for Como.

According to the Local Police's reconstruction, the family was boarding when the doors suddenly closed. The child managed to get in, while the rest of the group remained outside. At that point, the mother rushed to the Local Police officers in the station forecourt to raise the alarm. After alerting Trenord officials to monitor the train, an emergency call was made to the Local Police headquarters in Seregno (Monza), the first available stop on the line.

The wait for the little boy lasted the few kilometers separating the two cities. When the train pulled into the Seregno station, the police were already lined up on the platform, ready to intervene. The child was found among the seats of the carriage, frightened but in good condition, and immediately taken into custody by the workers. A few minutes later, he returned to Monza and was embraced by his mother and siblings.
