This afternoon, during a heavy downpour in the Brindisi area, a 38-year-old man died in an accident that occurred along the provincial road between San Vito dei Normanni and Specchiolla.

The victim was driving a BMW which, for reasons currently under investigation, collided with a pickup truck driven by a man who was injured and whose condition is still being assessed.

However, all attempts by the emergency medical personnel to revive the 38-year-old were unsuccessful. Firefighters were also on the scene.
