She was attacked by her partner while holding her nine-day-old son. The victim is a 23-year-old woman. The incident occurred in Ischia , where the Carabinieri intervened after a call for help reached 112. According to the military's reconstruction, the 25-year-old Dominican man, clearly under the influence of alcohol , started yet another argument during dinner time . The argument quickly escalated into physical violence: the young woman was reportedly punched several times in the face and head while trying to protect her newborn.
During the attack, the 25-year-old also allegedly bit his partner on the cheek, causing a visible wound and several bruises on her face. Her screams attracted attention from outside the home. The young woman managed to escape and take refuge in a nearby fraternity house, where a meeting was in progress. There, she called for help, still holding her child, immediately raising the alarm. When the Carabinieri arrived, the victim's face was swollen and she showed obvious signs of the attack. Shortly thereafter, she was handed over to emergency personnel and transferred to the Anna Rizzoli Hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with injuries that would heal in ten days.
The officers then reached the residence and detained the man, who was still inside. The apartment reportedly smelled strongly of alcohol. During the investigation, previous unreported incidents of violence were uncovered: punches, slaps, bites, and hair pulling, which the woman reportedly documented with photographs stored on her cell phone. The 25-year-old was arrested and is now awaiting trial. Investigators are assessing the full extent of the abuse suffered by the victim.
