A 12-year-old boy is hospitalized in critical condition after becoming trapped in a hot tub .
The incident occurred yesterday, Easter Sunday, in a hotel in Pennabilli (Rimini), where the family, originally from Ascoli Piceno, decided to spend a few days on vacation. Yesterday morning, the father, mother, and 12-year-old son went down to the hotel spa area to soak in the hot tub. Their uncles and aunts also joined them.
While everyone was in the tub, which was about a meter deep, the boy was sucked into one of the nozzles connected to the feed pump and his leg was trapped . The family immediately raised the alarm, and the facility staff turned off the hot tub, but by the time the 12-year-old was rescued , he was already unconscious and without a pulse .
The staff immediately began resuscitation procedures while waiting for paramedics to transport him by air ambulance to the Infermi hospital in Rimini, where he is hospitalized in very serious condition.
The Novafeltria Carabinieri are currently investigating the hotel to determine the exact circumstances of the incident, and the Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into serious injuries.
