The 83-year-old man found dead two days ago inside a window and door manufacturing company in Pineto, in the province of Teramo, was working illegally for the company. This is what emerged from investigations by the Carabinieri and the Teramo Labor Inspectorate, who also discovered the presence of a second illegal worker.
The company was immediately suspended from operations due to safety violations. While initially it was thought that the death was natural and due to personal reasons —even though it was not clear what the elderly man was doing in the plant—subsequent investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, overturned the scenario. Further investigations revealed that the elderly man was indeed carrying out activities directly related to the company.
Furthermore, the police discovered that both the victim and a second worker present were employed entirely illegally. The company owner is currently abroad. The Carabinieri conducted technical surveys and seized evidentiary material, while investigations are continuing to determine the exact circumstances of the death.
