A 50-year-old worker, Paolo Straulino, from Sutrio, in the province of Udine, died after being hit by a forklift.

The accident occurred in a paper mill in Ovaro and the vehicle was driven by a colleague.

The tragedy occurred at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night: the worker who was hit died instantly. The man who was driving the vehicle that hit him instead fled and was found, in a state of shock, only around midnight.

The Carabinieri are investigating the incident.
