Around 9.15 this morning, a 39-year-old woman was stabbed during an argument by a man in the parking lot of the Lidl supermarket on Via Lombardia, in Seriate, in the province of Bergamo.

The two are foreigners and the attacker is the victim's husband. The injured woman, under the astonished and frightened eyes of the supermarket customers, was taken inside the market, where she was given first aid. She was stabbed several times.

She was then taken by ambulance to the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo with a red code.

According to reports, the woman told those who helped her, "it was my husband." The alleged attacker was stopped by customers of the supermarket, including a soldier of the Army off duty who was slightly injured. The Carabinieri of Bergamo and Seriate took him to the barracks and are reconstructing the circumstances of the incident to understand the reasons for the act. The attacker is a 48-year-old Romanian.
