The searches for the neighbor of Rosa Alfieri, the 23-year-old killed yesterday in Grumo Nevano, in the province of Naples, probably went on for the whole night and are still underway by the carabinieri, with the coordination of the Naples North Prosecutor's Office, strangled after reacting to an attempted sexual assault.

There are two circumstances that have directed the suspicions towards the girl's neighbor, a 31-year-old: Rosa's body was in fact found in the man's home, and he ran away immediately after the fact. It is certainly known that the 31-year-old had recently arrived in the house on the first floor of the building owned by Rosa's family, and was therefore a tenant of the victim's father.

The dynamics, on the other hand, are still to be ascertained, also because direct witnesses of the fact or other people who have told of any previous meetings between the two have not emerged for now.

The hypothesis is that the 23-year-old, who lived with her parents upstairs, was lured by the neighbor into his house on the ground floor, where he may have attempted a sexual approach. Rejected by the girl, he may have then reacted violently, killing the young woman by strangling her.

These are, of course, all hypotheses supported by evidence that has emerged, and which, however, can only be confirmed with certainty with an autopsy.

Rosa's body, who helped her father in accounting and her boyfriend in the family tobacconist's, was found by her father, who not seeing her return but seeing his daughter's car parked in the inner courtyard of the building, went to knock on the house of the close to see if he had seen her; he said "no" and only after two hours the girl's father broke through the door of the neighbor's house, who in the meantime had escaped, finding the body of the 23-year-old in the bathroom, lifeless, with a cloth in his mouth.
