18-year-old promising skier dies in a car accident

The victim of the accident which occurred in Valfurva, in the province of Sondrio, is 18-year-old Mirko Lupo Olcelli, a promising young ski mountaineer.

His car collided head-on with another car. The boy died and a 16-year-old who was sitting next to him was injured.

Olcelli had already been included in the national competitive teams. The Winter Sports Federation remembered the young member of the Alta Valtellina Ski Club and "prominent element of the national under 20 ski mountaineering team".
