A 17-year-old of Egyptian origin is accused of the murder of Gabriele Vaccaro, the 25-year-old from Favara who died after being stabbed in the neck during the night between Saturday and yesterday, in the Cattaneo parking lot, near the historic center of Pavia.

The boy was arrested after a long interrogation at the police station.

From footage from security cameras in the area, it emerged that only the 17-year-old Vaccaro was attacked, not the two or possibly three other boys with him. The attack occurred after the 25-year-old, his two friends, and the other group exchanged a few words about a girl.

The confrontation erupted outside a nightclub in Pavia and continued into the parking lot, where the 25-year-old—who worked for a logistics company and lived in Broni, Pavia—was stabbed in the throat with a small knife or screwdriver. One of Vaccaro's two friends suffered minor abdominal injuries and was taken to the hospital. The 17-year-old's friends were also interviewed at length by investigators at the police station.
