A 15-month-old child arrived in a semi-unconscious state at the emergency room of the Fabrizio Spaziani hospital in Frosinone and after a few minutes he fell into a coma.
The little boy tested positive for cannabinoids in a quantity that could be fatal: the doctors intubated him and transferred him by air ambulance to the pediatric department of Gemelli in Rome, where the child is in intensive care, with a reserved prognosis.
The mother told the police that the child would have picked up a piece of hashish while playing in the municipal park and would have put it in his mouth without her realizing it.
But the investigators do not believe this version: the concentration of the substance and the simultaneous presence of milk convinced them that the hashish was ingested at home. In fact, a few hours earlier, the father had been detained by the police and taken to the police station for crimes related to drug dealing.
The Police also activated social services to verify the living conditions of the three children.
