14-year-old reported for alluding to school massacres and violence on social media
Investigations by the Postal Police and the Police Headquarters' DIGOSWriting in the Cyrillic alphabet, he alluded to the commission of massacres and acts of terrorism, and was shown wearing a military helmet and a wearable video camera.
This is the charge brought by police against a 14-year-old who was reported to the Catania Juvenile Prosecutor's Office for spreading violent and apologetic news and information , particularly those alluding to violent acts at school. Clothing with discriminatory slogans, swastikas, a military helmet, handwritten notes, and a rudimentary bulletproof vest were seized.
The investigation stems from a tip from the Rome Postal Police and Cybersecurity Service, and further investigations by the Catania Police Headquarters' DIGOS unit and the Cybersecurity Operations Center led to the identification of the minor as the account holder.
The account at the center of the investigation was found on the minor's smartphone, along with internet searches on weapons and gun operations. All the material found was seized. Technical investigations of the computer equipment, delegated by the Catania Juvenile Prosecutor's Office to the COSC staff of the Postal Police and the DIGOS unit of the Police Headquarters, have identified additional elements deemed of investigative interest that will be further investigated.
