There are 38 Sardinian companies awarded at the Italy Food Awards , the Oscars which bestow the seal of agri-food excellence on the best producers on the national scene .

In front of an audience of almost 500 guests from all over Italy, the awards ceremonies were held in recent days which saw the jewel in the cap of Sardinian artisans shine.

The 2023 edition of the prestigious exhibition - sponsored by CRAI, and sponsored by the Ministry of Agricultural Policies, the Regions of Sardinia, Puglia and Piedmont, the LAORE Agency and Coldiretti - saw the massive participation of over 2000 companies divided into 12 different categories .

The objective is the promotion and enhancement of small and medium-sized local enterprises focused on quality and excellence in production and which make Italy famous throughout the world.

Guarantee of the high value of the recognition is the absolute impartiality in the judgement : juries of experts in every sector blindly tasted every single product in the competition, evaluating the quality, sustainability and packaging of each one.

For the Sardinian companies entered in the competition, a shower of awards and special mentions in the most varied categories.

Pasta factory category: gold medal as Gluten Free pasta factory to “Nicky Gluten Free”, special mention for “Il Girasole Gluten Free”.

Rice farm category: special mention for the Sardinian risotto "I Ferrari".

Patisserie category: special mention for the activities "The bakery", "Oros de domo", and "The delicious oasis".

Artisan ice cream parlors category: special mention for the “La Pece Nera” ice cream parlour.

Winner of special products for ice cream shops: Druché laboratories.

Artisanal bakery category: special mention for the Bulloni bakery, the Sunalle bakery, the Murru and Lai bakery, the Ittyri bakery, the Bistoccu bakery in Montressa.

Oil mills category: special mention to Nuovo oleificio San Pasquale, Gariga, Accademia Olearia, Agricola Piras, Villad'orri.

Cold cuts and ham factories category: special mention to La bottega della carne.

Wineries category: special mention to Cantina Siddura Sardegna, Cantina Treguer & Treguer, Tenute Mereu, Cantine Sardus Pater.

Craft breweries category: special mention to Birra San Martino and Birrificio 4 Mori.

Liqueur factories and distilleries category: special mention to Lussurgesi distilleries, gold medal to Liquorificio Myrsine, special mention to Liquorificio San Martino and Liquorificio Nero Ambra and to Chervu.

Dairies category: special mention to Sa Peritta de Corona, Silvio Boi Dairy, Tertenia Dairy.

Canning laboratories category: special mention to Le conserve di Chicco.
