At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Italy won the bronze medal in the all-around rhythmic gymnastics competition.

Butterflies finished behind China (gold) and Israel (silver).

Martina Centofanti, Agnese Duranti, Alessia Maurelli, Daniela Mogurean and Laura Paris scored 68,100 points.

After the awards ceremony there was also an unscheduled event: captain Alessia Maurelli received a marriage proposal from her fiancé Massimo, complete with a ring. The proposal was accepted by the Italian who, in tears, commented: "You're crazy." Then a kiss, a hug and a ring on her finger amid the applause of her teammates and the public who enjoyed the scene from the giant screens in the facility.
