Third day of the Italian table tennis championships and third medal for athletes registered with Sardinian clubs. In Cagliari, at the Pala Pirastu, Marialucia Di Meo won the bronze in the third category women's singles. Avellino, registered with Norbello since 2009, adds another podium, after the doubles title, won on Saturday with teammate Anna Brzan. Di Meo is currently number 44 in the Italian ranking, already bronze in 2022 in mixed doubles paired with Vellucci, and in 2016 in second category singles.

After winning the qualifying round, his journey continued with victories over Turganti, Visentin and Moretti. Precisely with Chiara Visentin the most difficult match, when at 1-1 she risked in the third set, won 16-14. In the semifinals, the challenge with Margherita Cerritelli, eighteen years old and number 49. Having lost the first set after a comeback that stopped at 10-10, she won the second, but lost in the next two. Cerritelli, shortly after, won the title beating Jessica Ramazzini in the final.

Qualified for the main draw, Serena Anedda, Michela Mura and Sara Congiu left the scene in the first round. Anna Brzan was eliminated in the second round by future finalist Ramazzini. A separate chapter deserves Francesca Seu, fifteen-year-old promise of Muravera, bronze in mixed doubles. In qualifying, he beat No. 2 seed Ramazzini (23 years old, 39 in the rankings). Once she won the group, she eliminated Busnardo, but was then eliminated by Cerritelli (who will win the title) in the fourth, after a first set leading up to 9-5.

Three second category titles will be awarded tomorrow, the men's, women's and mixed doubles. And high-ranking table tennis players enter the scene. There are well-founded hopes that Sardinia will still get on the podium. There is a title to defend, won last year with the double Marco Poma and Antonino Amato. They defend the colors of the same clubs, respectively TT Sassari and Marcozzi, but they will do so from different perspectives. Poma paired with Cappuccio (Norbello) and Amato with Ganci. The Muravera duo formed by Valentina Roncallo (number 9) and Miriam Carnovale (11), first and second last year are the favourites. The pairs of the mixed, Marco Poma and Nicoletta Criscione, Marco and Lisa Bressan (TT Sassari and Muravera), the duo of Norbello Cappuccio and Veronica Mosconi, Amato with Giulia Cavalli are also fierce. Without forgetting Carnovale with Giacomo Allegranza, number 10 in the ranking.

The show, for the enthusiasts who will populate the table tennis village in Monte Mixi, is guaranteed.
