The thermal establishment of the Antiche Terme di Sardara is about to reopen its gates for all those who want to benefit from the cycle of thermal treatments paid for by the National Health System. On April 8, 2024, the season dedicated to health and well-being will be inaugurated and will extend until December 21. Spa treatments are an extraordinary opportunity for those seeking effective solutions for the treatment and prevention of various health conditions.

The subsidized spa treatments and their benefits

Do you know that you can take advantage of a cycle of thermal treatments (muds or inhalations) paid for by the National Health System? The Sardara Spa has an agreement with the National Health System to offer a wide range of spa treatments:

  • Mud therapy and balneotherapy : These treatments are particularly suitable for rheumatic diseases such as osteoarthritis and other degenerative forms, exploiting the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of mud and thermal water.
  • Inhalation treatments: Ideal for respiratory tract diseases , these treatments improve lung function and help in conditions such as chronic bronchitis and sinusitis.
  • Rhinogenous Deafness Treatments: Specific treatments for ENT diseases , such as chronic catarrhal otitis and tubal stenosis.
  • Drinking cures: Indicated for treating various internal disorders through the ingestion of natural mineral waters.

To access the spa treatments, it is essential to book. The reservation must be made by contacting the spa secretariat by telephone. When booking you must have your doctor's prescription with you.

Prescription and Acceptance Methods

Medical Prescription: To benefit from spa treatments, you will need to consult your family doctor who, by evaluating your specific condition, will be able to prescribe the most suitable course of treatment, using the form of the National Health System.

Ticket Regulation: Patients are subject to different fees depending on their exemption category, with a fixed fee for non-exempts and reduced fees or no fees for protected categories and fully exempt patients.

Partially exempt patients pay the fixed fee of Euro 3.10:

Patients totally exempt, do not pay any ticket fee

Non-exempt patients pay the fixed fee of €55.00 for the entire treatment cycle.

Protected categories

The Protected Categories (ex art.57 paragraph 3 ln833/78 and art.13 c.6 DL n.463/83, as amended by the conversion law Ln638/83) can benefit, during the year, from a further cycle of specific treatments. They are included in this category: disabled due to war and service, blind, deaf and dumb and civilian disabled with a percentage greater than two thirds, disabled from work.

All those who undergo treatment are required to declare, on the back of the proposed prescription, under their own responsibility, that, in the current calendar year, they have not benefited from another specific cycle of treatment, with costs borne by the National Health Service, or to have the right to the treatments provided for those belonging to protected categories.

The spa for workers

Thermal services cannot be used by public and private employees outside of the period of holidays or ordinary leave. It is possible for personnel falling into the categories of disabled, war or service disabled, to carry out the treatment prescribed in relation to their state of disability, according to the limits established by current legislation and the respective CCNL, making use of the treatment leave, falling within the regulation of absences due to illness. In the event that, for the therapy or rehabilitation relating to diseases or pathological states, the doctor of the ASL or social security institutions judges the use of a timely spa treatment as decisive and for this reason a deferral of the treatment is advised against, the employee, taking advantage of sick leave, you will be able to go and carry out the prescribed therapies at the spa indicated. This regulatory direction has also been reiterated by recent rulings of the Court of Cassation, which underlined the need for the prescribing doctor to make a reasoned judgment regarding the non-deferrability of the treatment and the "specific therapeutic or rehabilitative suitability of the prescribed treatments".
