Istentales, the solidarity tour ten years after the earthquake: the concert in Cascia – LIVE
The Sardinian ethno-rock band celebrates from the stage the union between the communities established with the great paradura of 2016Music and a statue of a Nuragic warrior were donated to the communities to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Paradura and renew the bond with the communities affected by the earthquake.
After the concert in L'Aquila, the Nuoro band Istentales continues its journey in Central Italy with three new dates: today, October 30th in Cascia, tomorrow in Norcia, and November 1st in Amatrice, in collaboration with Coldiretti and Seu - Sardi emigrati uniti and with the patronage of the Region.
A tour that, on the tenth anniversary of the Paradura organized after the 2016 earthquake, brings together music, memory, and solidarity. As in L'Aquila, each of the three municipalities will be donated a monumental sculpture depicting a Nuragic warrior, hand-sculpted by Marco Cabras, an artist from Villamar.
The works, inspired by the bronze statuettes of the Nuragic civilization, will bring a lasting sign of friendship and brotherhood to the visited territories: the granite and the warrior figures evoke the strength, resilience, and pride of the Sardinian people and the communities engaged in the post-earthquake recovery. The route renews the spirit of Sa Paradura, the ancient pastoral custom by which farmers help those who have lost their flocks, donating some animals to allow them to start over.
After the earthquake, the mobilization promoted by Istentales and Coldiretti transformed this tradition into a major solidarity initiative: Sardinian farmers donated around two thousand sheep to their colleagues in the affected areas. Ten years later, that bond continues through meetings, music, and the donation of sculptures. Each stop will be an opportunity to reconnect with the communities and their mayors, and reaffirm a solidarity that continues beyond the emergency.
An improvisational poetry challenge will pit Stefano Demelas of Chiaramonti against Alessio Runci of Abruzzo, who will discuss the themes of land, memory, and rebirth. Throughout the three events, dedicated areas will be set up to promote Sardinian agri-food products and traditional crafts, as well as a photography and film stand commemorating Sardinian emigration to central Italy.
The website Unionesarda.it is broadcasting the Cascia concert live.
Gigi Sanna, leader of the ethno-rock band that celebrated its fifteenth anniversary on stage last year: "Ten years have passed, but it feels like it was yesterday. We will fondly remember the great mobilization of that time, and we will do so with our music and with the thousands of Sardinians who live in central Italy and who follow us when we cross the Tyrrhenian Sea. Over these thirty years, we've played and sung a lot, but we've also tried to send social messages to a world that desperately needs them."
