Twenty-five years of virtuosity and passion. This year, the Cagliari International Academy of Music turns twenty-five, a milestone that will be celebrated from Wednesday, August 27th to Saturday, August 30th with a new edition of its flagship event: the "Notti Musicali" festival, an event at the Conservatory's Auditorium featuring classical music performed by international stars, including masterclass instructors.
Organized under the artistic direction of guitarist and composer Cristian Marcia, the Academy will host its first-ever guest performers, including Tatiana Samouil, a versatile violinist of Russian-Moldavian origin; French flutist Mathilde Calderini, acclaimed in her country for her virtuosity and winner of the Adami Classico Revelation Award; viola virtuoso Genevieve Strosser, one of the most exciting viola players on the international scene today; Italian pianist Igor Roma, a leading figure on this instrument, winner of numerous awards at prestigious international competitions; and Konstanze Pietschmann, a young German cellist with a solid background.
Italian pianist Igor Roma, winner of numerous international competition awards, will also be present. Returning after participating in past editions of the festival are pianist Enrico Pace, Marc Danel and Gilles Millet, founders of the Danel String Quartet, Russian cellist Emil Rovner, and clarinet virtuoso Johanns Thorsten. Cristian Marcia, who continues his collaboration with the prestigious Canadian label Les Producion d'Oz, will also perform: his new CD will be released in December. The Sardinian guitarist will inaugurate the new edition of Notti Musicali on Wednesday, August 27 (all concerts begin at 9:00 p.m.), with a special evening that will first feature performances of his original compositions, inspired by the natural beauty of Sardinia.
