Pianists Lorenzo Felicioni and Tommaso Ridolfi won the tenth edition of the Giangrandi-Eggmann award, reserved for young musical talents. The ideal podium was completed by the Varen quartet (second prize) and the Cuore trio (third prize). The concerts were scheduled in the Carmen Melis room of the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari. The event was born in 2014 in memory of the couple Renato Giangrandi, violinist from Florence, and Arlette Eggmann, pianist from Geneva, who were also united in their artistic journey .

The two masters, winners of the first absolute prize as a duo at the prestigious international competition "Ard" in Munich in 1955, after an intense concert career in Italy and abroad, have dedicated their lives, with the same passion and dedication, to teaching. For thirty years they have been teachers at the "Pierluigi da Palestrina" Conservatory. Renato Giangrandi, moreover, has been the first violin of the Orchestra dell'Ente Lirico for over twenty years. The Conservatories of Cagliari and Sassari have been among the main promoters of the Award since the first edition. The organization of the event is entrusted to the daughter Francesca, a piano teacher. For the tenth anniversary the award has been dedicated exclusively to chamber music .

Competing this year are 50 young musicians from Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Austria, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, China and Japan. Six talents born in Sardinia also participated. The event opened last Thursday, with the performance of Daniele Martinelli who triumphed in 2024. For the final act, instead, at Palazzo Siotto the concert of the duo Felicioni-Ridolfi .
