Alp and Anhelina are a boy and a girl of sixteen and they are ready to fly from their countries of origin, Turkey and Ukraine , to Sardinia . They have chosen to attend the school year that is about to begin on the island with the project Afs Intercultura , an association that since 1955 has been organizing and promoting intercultural exchanges and experiences, and now they are looking for two families who can host them.

"We are very happy to be able to host Alp and Anhelina. She comes from Ukraine and we are proud to have managed to bring Ukrainian kids to Italy for an entire school year," says Alessandra Piredda, president of the local Intercultura center in Guspini-Medio Campidano . "They will arrive in Sardinia on September 7 and then return to their countries next July, with a wealth of experiences and memories of our region."

" We are looking for two host families, living in different areas of the island , not only in Medio Campidano but also in the provinces of Oristano, Carbonia-Iglesias, Sassari, Tempio, La Maddalena, Alghero, Olbia and Tortolì-Lanusei. After covid it is a little more difficult to find host families, not only here in Sardinia - where the sense of hospitality is strong and deep-rooted - but in every part of the world, we are always grateful to the families and people who open their doors to the Intercultura kids, and who welcome our kids in every part of the world for exchanges" continues Piredda.

There are about thirty kids who will arrive in Sardinia in September to attend the next school year here on the island, the Sardinian kids who will go abroad are about a hundred . «From September 1st we will reopen the applications for the competition» specifies the local coordinator of Intercultura.
