A non-existent Inter can do nothing against Paris Saint Germain: the Nerazzurri overwhelmed 5-0 and the French are European champions. For Inzaghi's team another tournament slips away after the Scudetto ended in Naples.

The Chronicle

At the kick-off, after a brief initial phase of dialogue, PSG immediately showed they were in the game. Achraf Hakimi, served in the six-yard box by Doué, struck in the 13th minute as the end of a video game-like move: the goal was validated after a suspected offside, but the former great – who almost apologized – was kept onside by Dimarco.

The same Nerazzurri full-back deflected the ball that ended up in the net for the Parisians to double their lead: in an attempt to put it in the corner, he touched Doué's shot, at the end of a deadly counterattack, and the trajectory deceived Sommer, who was forced to take the ball from the back of the net for the second time. Inzaghi's men didn't react, and Luis Enrique's men came close to scoring. A first half to forget for Inter.

Upon returning to the pitch, the Nerazzurri made their anger felt and for fifteen minutes they tried to keep up the pressure, but they were shattered by the orderly opposition backline. The Parisians became dangerous once again with Hakimi, but this time the deflection was decisive and Inter avoided collapse. But only for a moment. Because Doué pierced Sommer again in the 63rd minute.

With the Nerazzurri on their knees, Kvaratskhelia scored a poker in the 72nd minute. And Mayulu's final blow in the 86th minute.

THE MEMORY

At the Allianz Arena in Munich before the match, the historic Nerazzurri president Ernesto Pellegrini, who died on the day of the final, was remembered. "He was a great president, passionate about sports, but above all a great man who helped others in a moral way. I also lost a friend, we saw each other often. One of the great leaders of the past who perhaps are missing at this moment is missing," said Inter president Beppe Marotta.
