"The troubled political moment" that the government is experiencing must not hinder the modification of the Constitutional Charter which, in article 119, provides for the inclusion of the principle of insularity .

This was written in a letter by the regional councilor of the Sardinian Reformers and member of the Committee for insularity, Michele Cossa , addressing the parliamentarians and exhorting the political forces to give that decisive acceleration to achieve the result expected for five years .

"The troubled political moment, and the consequent repercussions on parliamentary work (with respect to which a real legislative jam is being created), today arouses great concern", writes Cossa asking that the provision be definitively approved within the month of July : "Going further, given the precariousness of the political situation, could nullify this historic turning point and, what is worse, disappoint the enormous expectations that the citizens of the islands have created in recent years".

Cossa then recalled the value of the initiative: "A result - he explains - that will remain in history: it is the first time that a bill of popular initiative of constitutional rank has come to fruition. Above all, the Italian islands, with their their potential and their natural disadvantage find full recognition in the very foundations of our legal system. From this point of view - he continues in the letter - the most important fact for Sardinia is the conquest of the status of a Region with a special statute ".

The final passage to the Chamber is scheduled for the general discussion on 18 July .
